about dcvt:

The Dance Company at Virginia Tech is a student organization with a purpose of fitness, comradeship, artistic expression, and performance service. Although our members come from a variety of dance backgrounds, we share a common bond in our love for dance. This combination of style and skill are what makes DCVT unique. Our abilities cross a wide range of styles including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, funk, and Pointe.

Because we are student run, all choreography is created by our members and is original to DCVT. We have a strong bond between members and this is encouraged through social and service activities. Some of our social aspects include formal and semi-formal dances, socials with fraternities, and homecoming festivities. Being in Dance Company isn’t just about dance, its about have a great time, with great friends.

The Dance Company has two major performances at the end of both fall and spring semesters. We also have various small performances such as pep-rallies and basketball games. As a member of Dance Company you can commit as much time as you like. For every dance you are in for the show, there is one hour of practice a week required. Auditions are held at the beginning of every fall semester. Spring semester auditions are held as needed.
